Sundays, 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
MONTHLY
ACTIVITIES
In addition to troop meetings, monthly activities are
usually held. These include camping trips, field trips, and
service projects.
REGISTRATION
REQUIREMENTS
Each boy joining Troop 1776 must complete the following:
- Boy Scout Application
- Troop 1776 Behavior Contract
- Troop 1776 Medical Information
and Treatment Authorization
- Troop 1776 Hold Harmless Agreement
- Personal Health and Medical
Record
- Payment of full registration
fee
REGISTRATION
FEES
For new members, the fee is $75.00. This covers the following:
Enrollment fee* $25.00
Troop T-shirts (2) and cap $25.00
Equipment fund $25.00
*Includes Boy Scout registration
fee, insurance, a subscription to BoysÍ Life magazine, a troop
uniform numeral, and miscellaneous expenses.
An annual troop registration fee
of $50.00 per Scout is due on September 1 of each year.
No boy will be denied admission
to the troop due to an inability to pay the registration fee.
If such a situation exists, please contact the Scoutmaster.
Enrollment fee for new adult leaders
is $10.00. An annual troop registration fee of $10.00 per leader
is due on September 1 of each year.
MONTH
LY ACTIVITY FEES
A small fee may be charged for each monthly activity
to help defray costs for the activity.
UNIFORMS
Boys and adult leaders are expected to wear the full
Scout uniform, or an approved alternate, to all troop activities.
A full uniform consists of the following:
- Boy Scout shirt with the following
insignia:
a. Red shoulder loops
b. Left sleeve „
(1) Circle Ten Council shoulder patch
(2) Troop 1776 numeral (provided by the
troop)
(3) Badge of office (provided by the troop)
c. Right sleeve „
(1) U.S. flag patch (included with the
shirt)
(2) Patrol emblem
d. Left pocket „
(1) Badge of rank (provided by the troop)
(2) Arrow of Light Award (if earned)
(3) World Crest
(4) Service Stars
(Please refer to the inside front and back covers of the Boy
Scout Handbook for the correct placement of all badges and
emblems.)
- Boy Scout shorts or Scout long
pants
( For Scouts joining in the spring, purchase shorts first,
and wait until the fall to purchase long pants. For Scouts
joining in the fall, purchase long pants first and wait until
the spring to purchase shorts.)
- Boy Scout belt
- Boy Scout socks
- Merit badge sash (needed once
Scout has earned 6 merit badges)
An approved alternate to the full
uniform, worn during camping trips and service projects, is
a usually troop T-shirt or other Scout T-shirt.
In all cases, the boys must be
neat in appearance. Shirt tails must be tucked in, unless otherwise
approved. Non-Scout caps are not to be worn with the uniform.
EQUIPMENT
In addition to a uniform, each new Scout will need to
purchase a copy of the Boy Scout Handbook. Prior to going on
his first campout, he will also need:
- Lightweight, synthetic-filled,
mummy style sleeping bay, 30º or lower rating
- Closed-cell foam sleeping pad
- Poncho or rain jacket/pants
For summer camp, each Scout will
need:
- Cot
- Mosquito net
- Footlocker
For first year Scouts, the troop
provides tents. After the first year, each Scout is expected
to purchase the standard troop tent.
PARENTAL
INVOLVEMENT
There are many ways that parents can be involved with
the troop, including serving as Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop
Committee Members, and Merit Badge Counselors. Please contact
the Scoutmaster or Troop Committee Chairperson for more information.
